SBA Offers Jobs to Assist Hurricane Relief Efforts
With recovery efforts underway in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, it is clear the damage and devastation from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma will reach historic levels. Homes, businesses, and lives have been uprooted by the sheer force of nature, affecting millions of people. After FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the Federal government's primary source of money to help homeowners, renters, businesses, and non-profit organizations recover from disasters.
While help has poured in from across the country, the road to recovery is going to be long. SBA is preparing to process an extraordinary number of disaster loan applications, and we have already hired hundreds of additional staff to help process these loans. However, demand for SBA assistance is expected to escalate quickly. To ensure SBA’s disaster team is ready to respond quickly to meet that demand, we need to tap every resource available. That’s why we are looking for additional staff to aid in our efforts.
Visit https://www.sba.gov/disaster-assistance to see a listing of all positions. Key positions of need are:
- Loan specialists
- Damage Verifiers
- Lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants
This is an amazing opportunity to serve your country and those most in need. Please share with your professional network and others who may be able to assist in this critical effort. |
