Primary Ballots due 8/1/17

Bellingham, WA, July 24, 2017: Primary Election Day is Tuesday, August 1. Ballots can be returned in an official ballot drop box up until 8:00 pm that day. No postage is needed if you use a drop box, Auditor Debbie Adelstein said. For ballot drop box locations check the insert enclosed with your ballot, the Local Voters’ Pamphlet, or the Auditor’s website at www.whatcomcounty.us/auditor.
If returning your ballot through the mail, a 49-cent stamp is required and the ballot must have a postmark no later than August 1 to be counted. The USPS now recommends mailing your ballot one week before Election Day.
Not all of Whatcom County is having a Primary Election, Auditor Adelstein said. Check the website www.vote.wa.gov and see if you are entitled to receive a ballot for this election. If you should have received a ballot, contact the Election Division of the Auditor’s Office at (360) 778-5102. Relay calls are gladly accepted.
