You're invited to Opportunity Council's Anniversary Gala celebrating six decades of community action! Tickets and details are available now at oppco.org/anniversary through Friday, October 10.

For sixty years, neighbors have stepped up for neighbors through Opportunity Council. From the early days of Head Start to today’s efforts to create affordable housing, keep the lights on, and ensure families have what they need to thrive—our story is one of people helping people.

The work of helping people and building community is never simple. Every day brings new challenges, and lately it can feel like the world is heavier than ever.

That’s exactly why it matters to pause and celebrate. For 60 years, Opportunity Council has shown what’s possible when neighbors come together—families find stability, homes are created, and brighter futures take root.

What to Expect

This gala is about making space for joy in the midst of the hard stuff—honoring all that’s been accomplished and carrying forward the hope and resilience that will guide the next 60 years.

We’ll have dinner, dancing, live music, games—and while there will be a chance to help contribute to the real-practical help powered by our community, it won’t be a traditional auction event. The focus is on gathering as a community, honoring our shared history, and enjoying a memorable night together.

How to Help
We hope to have you join us on October 25, but even if you can't, your support means the world. Consider sponsoring the event, tell your friends about the Gala, sign up for our newsletter to keep in touch... or donate to help us continue caring for our communities in Whatcom County and beyond.
