The business and purpose of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce is to be the unifying force where community and economic vitality connect, creating the best place to live, work, and do business. The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Anya Milton as its new executive director, responsible for carrying out this mission.
Milton is a familiar face to the Ferndale community where she and her family have lived for the past 14 years. She joined the Board of Directors of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce while working for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County and became Board President in 2018. It was later that same year that she took a full-time role as a member of Chamber staff and has led successful programs and events for the Chamber as Program Director before most recently serving as Interim Executive Director last month.
“We are very excited to have Anya taking on the role of executive director,” said Antonio Machado, Board President. “Anya brings to the position an incredible passion for our community and its citizens. She is a proven leader and the Board is confident that she will take the Chamber in a new and exciting direction – delivering more for our members and Ferndale. As a Board, we can think of no one better suited for this role. Anya has demonstrated her commitment to Ferndale as a resident, an activist, and a leader. We expect her to not only continue the excellent support she has brought the past year as Program Director, but to bring the full complement of her talent, skills, and relationships forward and lead the Ferndale Chamber into the next decade.”
Milton offered, “Over the past five years as I have been working with the Chamber, I have gained perspective and a deep appreciation of the interconnectedness of our community. This place where families support businesses, business support resources and resources support families. I want to raise the bar and ensure that we are all working together for Ferndale’s future. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our members and the community as the new Executive Director of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce.”
