The Whatcom Community Foundation’s annual Funds for Whatcom County grant round is open for applications. The non-renewable grants of up to $10,000 are meant to support relative and timely activities that take a cooperative approach to building community connections, affordable housing, arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, food and agriculture, and health and wellness.

The Community Foundation invites creativity and imagination in the preparation of the grant requests. Applications are due by 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 1st.  Visit grant guidelines for ideas and eligibility, and review the online grants portal instructions.

Last year, projects that received funding ranged from North Cascades Institute’s Youth Leadership Adventures to a program connecting Ferndale sixth graders with elders for tech support; the Bellingham Downtown Partnership’s alley activation project to teen parent education through Brigid Collins house and the Bellingham School District.
