Smart Businesses Leadership Series: The Value of People, Planet, Profit, and Purpose

June 05, 2019
Sustainable Connections and the Community Food Co-op are proud to present three free lunchtime workshops through the Smart Business Leadership Series.

The series will explore the quadruple bottom line of sustainability in an environment that fosters new connections, creates space for one-on-one support, and enables attending businesses to set, measure, and report on sustainability and equity practices. Local experts will share knowledge and strategies for how to set goals focused on people, planet, profit, and purpose that will lead to better overall business performance.

The workshop series focuses on how business practices have evolved past people, planet, and profit – also known as the triple bottom line. Many companies have learned that there are more pieces to the puzzle, and as a result, are embracing an expanded definition and a quadruple bottom line (QBL).

The first workshop in this series will focus on people, exploring how a sense of purpose and social equity can improve a business or organization. Workshop attendees will learn about socially responsible retirement investments, as well as how to incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion practices in their workplace.

Registration is required and attendees will walk away with tools to make meaningful, significant change in the workplace and in our community. Each workshop is a standalone event and can be attended individually, but the greatest value will come from attending the entire series as each topic relates to the other. When registering, attendees can choose to bring a brown bag lunch for free or purchase a delicious lunch prepared by the Community Food Co-op.
