Northwest Youth Services Announces Their Love Warriors Movement

Bellingham’s Northwest Youth Services is excited to announce the launch of their Love Warriors Movement. A Movement to end youth and young adult homelessness in Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
The term Love Warrior was coined by Dr. Cornel West. “Love Warriors are those who have decided to cut radically against the grain and attempt to engage in forms of care and concern for others. They have a hypersensitivity to the suffering of others. They are willing to give oneself, to emptying oneself, to give whatever gifts one has cultivated to make the world a better place.”
According to Northwest Youth Services, a Love Warrior is someone deeply committed to their community, offering monthly donations that directly support our mission to end youth homelessness in Whatcom and Skagit counties. Regardless of whether a Love Warrior donates $10 a month or $100 a month, they uplift the Movement through their actions. They choose Love instead of hate, curiosity instead of judgement, and compassion instead of dismissal. A Love Warrior is someone who strikes up a conversation with a stranger, who listens to the voices of those who are most marginalized, and educates the people in their life about youth and young adult homelessness. When an individual or organization signs up to be a Love Warrior, they receive a membership card that offers discounts to local businesses.
Once we reach our goal of 2,000 Love Warriors your support will directly empower young people to take control of their lives and futures through direct cash transfers, paid internships, and/or employment opportunities. We are currently at 77 Love Warriors! Help us reach our goal of 200 Love Warriors by the end of 2024!
