Father’s Day car show offers family fun and will benefit nonprofits

More than 200 classic and modified cars and trucks are expected June 16 for the fifth-annual Father’s Day Car Show at Whatcom County’s Bellewood Acres.
 
Presented from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Gear Heads of Whatcom County, admission is free for spectators. Twenty-six trophies will be awarded and drawings will be conducted for more than $3,000 in prizes. Live music will be presented by a local favorite, Prozac Mountain Boys, and breakfast and a barbecue lunch will be offered.

Net proceeds will support Humane Society of Whatcom County, Bellingham Food Bank, Vietnam Veterans Organization and Alzheimer’s Association of Washington.
 
Adults are invited to sample farm-made spirits from the on-site distillery.
 
Bellewood Acres includes 62 acres with apple and pear orchards and a 14,000-square-foot building containing a market and gift shop, café, bakery and distillery. The property is located at 6140 Guide Meridian, about halfway between Bellingham and Lynden.
