Fully Restored Schooner ''ADVENTURESS'' Visits Bellingham

Public Sails throughout May
The 1913 schooner Adventuress’ first port of call this year is Bellingham! The tall ship has just launched following six-months of restoration work on-the-hard in Port Townsend where she received a new deck. This marks the end of a decade of restoration for the beloved 133-foot National Historic Landmark sailing ship. The ship and its crew of shipboard educators arrived in Bellingham on Tuesday, May 7th and are docked at Squalicum Harbor Marina.
The nonprofit, Sound Experience, which owns and operates Adventuress is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with its youth education, environmental stewardship and public engagement mission. The ship will be busy serving students from Whatcom County schools interested in marine science and current issues affecting the Salish Sea. Adventuress’ May visit to Bellingham will also include award-winning Public Sails, and the first of a Dock Talk Series that is FREE and open to the public. Below are details of public events:
 
PUBLIC SAILS
During Public Sails, participants are invited to join the crew to raise the sails, take a turn at the helm, and learn more about emerging issues in Puget Sound and the Salish Sea from enthusiastic, knowledgeable shipboard educators.

All sails depart from Squalicum Harbor Marina in Bellingham.
Tickets for Public Sails are $65/Adults and $35/Youth (under 18). Sound Experience Members get to sail for free on three Public Sails per season (a 12-month Membership costs $90/Individual, $140/Household of four and $160 for a household of plus four). Members also receive a discounted rate for their guests, and discounts on summer programs for girls, teens, and adults.
