Middle & High Schoolers: Apply Now to Attend WCC’s Free GenCyber Camps This Summer

Applications are now being accepted for Whatcom Community College’s summer 2019 GenCyber day camps for middle and high school students. The camps will explore cybersecurity, a fascinating and rapidly growing field, through hands-on activities. Students will learn how cybersecurity professionals help protect information and information systems from unauthorized access, misuse and destruction.
The GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to participants and lunch is provided. Funding is provided by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation. There are two camp options for middle school students: July 8-12 and July 15-19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. The high school camp runs July 8-12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Camp is held in the classrooms and labs at WCC’s nationally acclaimed computer information systems / cybersecurity program.
Interested students should submit completed applications and supporting documents no later than May 31, 2019 for best consideration. Enrollment is limited. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required.
