Samson Rope Supports Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center

The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center (WDRC) is thrilled to once again partner with Samson Rope, to make creative conflict resolution services available to our community in 2024.
 
With a mission of providing and promoting constructive and collaborative approaches to conflict, the WDRC supports Whatcom County residents with conflict prevention and conflict intervention services. The WDRC serves individuals, families, businesses and organizations through mediation, facilitation, coaching, supervised visitation, restorative practices, and community education.
 
With a vision of enhancing customers’ operations by delivering safer, smarter, and more reliable synthetic rope systems and services, Samson Rope is rooted in quality, and in community. Samson shares values centered on strengthening our community by breaking the cycle of poverty, supporting our youth, and celebrating diversity. They recognize the important role that the WDRC plays in bringing people together across differences to resolve conflict in creative and healthy ways.
 
In 2023 alone, the WDRC served nearly 6,000 community members including: 352 mediation sessions hosted with a 78% resolution rate, 100 educational workshops that taught conflict resolution skills to 960 adults and 580 youth, supervised visitation connections between 53 children and their parents, and facilitation of complex conversations for over 200 community members. With 65% of WDRC’s clients reporting Very Low – Extremely Low income levels, and an additional 14% reporting Low – Moderate income, the WDRC is committed to continuing to offer free and low cost services to our community. Support from partners like Samson Rope is key to continuing our legacy of never turning a client away for financial reasons.
