Bellingham Yacht Club Reopens
March 11, 2021
The Bellingham Yacht Club hosted its first wedding of 2021 on February 12th and reopened to members Friday, February 26th. Members are able to enjoy the bar and order food Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm to 9. Opening Day is on for May 1st with the annual boat parade and Blessing of the Fleet open to the public.
The club is also welcoming new members, waiving the initiation fee through May 20, 2021 as well as prorating annual dues for the remainder of 2021. From races to cruising to youth programs and socializing at BYC’s waterfront facilities, members enjoy boating and the company of fellow members to the fullest.
“There is tremendous pent-up demand for boating activities, the use of our terrific facilities and the camaraderie of our members,” said Shaun Thompson, BYC Commodore. “We are really pleased to be open, even on a limited basis. While planning for the season has continued remotely, being able to grab a drink at the bar and enjoy food surrounded by fellow boaters is a huge morale booster for all.”
Added Rear Commodore Cathy Herbold, “We are also seeing huge demand for our beautiful and versatile Event Center facilities for weddings, meetings and other functions. We can host events and accommodate remote participants electronically as well,” she added. “While complying with Covid-19 requirements, we also work with clients to maximize our spaces and create the best experience possible.”
In accordance with Washington’s Phase 2 regulations, masks, social distancing and applicable capacity limits are required.
