Whatcom Community College Hires New Executive Director for Institutional Advancement

 Whatcom Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Eva Schulte. Schulte provides leadership and strategic direction to the Whatcom Community College Foundation, communications and marketing, and community relations.

Before joining Whatcom, Schulte was vice president for economic opportunity at Travois Inc., leading impact investing with indigenous communities nationally, and president and CEO of non-profit organization Communities Creating Opportunity in Kansas City. Schulte serves on the national board of directors of the Sierra Club Foundation and led major initiatives in philanthropy, investing, New Markets Tax Credits, and corporate social responsibility. 
“Eva has dedicated her life’s work to bringing capital and equity to underserved communities,” said WCC President Kathi Hiyane-Brown. “The College is extremely fortunate to have her, and I look forward to the partnerships she will develop and relationships she will strengthen for WCC.”
In her new role, Schulte will expand the College’s connections with business, civic and cultural leaders, and secure resources to support innovation and student scholarships.
“I am inspired to work on behalf of Whatcom Community College for student success and community building,” said Schulte.
