Lynden Sheet Metal Celebrating Growth During 85th Anniversary
April 24, 2025

Lynden Sheet Metal is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year with a fourth generation of local ownership leading the way.
Locally owned and operated since 1940, Lynden Sheet Metal provides excellent HVAC, electrical, plumbing and metal fabrication work for residential and commercial clients. With more than 90 employees, they sell and service heating and cooling systems, gas fireplaces, plumbing, water heaters, boilers and commercial refrigeration (walk-in coolers, freezers and ice machines). Lynden Sheet Metal also handles commercial kitchen hoods through the design, permitting and installation stages, plus provides welding and sheet metal fabrication for residential and commercial uses.
“Eighty-five years in business is a credit to all of Lynden Sheet Metal’s employees, past and present,” co-owner and company president Bobbi Kreider said. “Our reputation is due to the excellent service that they’ve given our customers over the years.”
Majority owners Bobbi and Cory Kreider acquired their ownership stake in 2010 from Bob and Rose Crabtree (Bobbi’s parents). Since then, two more couples -- Phil and Stephanie VanderVeen and Ken and Joell Keck – have become co-owners and annually increased their stake.
Ken Keck, a longtime Whatcom County resident and a Nooksack Valley High School graduate, started as a welder at Lynden Sheet Metal 15 years ago and now is its CEO. He is responsible for making major decisions, overseeing operations, and driving the company's overall direction and strategic vision.
Phil VanderVeen joined the company in 2001 and now is its COO. Born and raised in Lynden, VanderVeen took HVACR classes at Bellingham Technical College while working on a part-time basis at Lynden Sheet Metal.
Lynden Sheet Metal offers 24/7 service and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 837 Evergreen, near the intersection of the Guide Meridian and Main Street in Lynden. It also has a Bellingham office at 114 W. Magnolia St., Suite 445. For more information, call (360) 354-3991 or visit www.LyndenSheetMetal.com.
