Country music star and “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery will be singing Friday, Aug. 18 on the grandstand stage at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.

McCreery burst onto the national music scene in 2011 at age 17 by winning Season 10 of “American Idol.” The singer/songwriter’s deep voice and irresistible sound enable him to entertain fans of both contemporary and traditional country music. His first three albums debuted at No. 1 on a Billboard chart and his album sales are approaching 3 million.

McCreery’s hit singles include “See You Tonight,” “Feelin’ It,” “Southern Belle,” “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble with Girls.” He won the New Artist of the Year Award at both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and the American Country Awards in 2011.

“We’re excited to land one of country music’s hottest young stars, only 23 years old and already well established,” said Jim Baron, general manager of the Northwest Washington Fair.

Tickets to see Scotty McCreery will go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. April 13. Preferred seats are available for $35 and reserved seats for $25. The grandstand tickets don’t include gate admission for the fair, which is required. People wishing to buy tickets before they are offered to the public may become a Friend of the Fair by registering for free at http://nwwafair.com/email.aspx.

Tickets already are available to see nationally renowned standup comedian “Fluffy” Gabriel Iglesias at the fair on Aug. 19. The rest of The Bank of the Pacific Grandstand Entertainment Series will be announced later this spring.

Tickets can be purchased at www.nwwafair.com and the fair office, 1775 Front St., Lynden, and by phone at (877) 699-FAIR. The 2017 Northwest Washington Fair will be presented Aug. 14-19.
