Here’s the latest news from Whatcom Women in Business (WWIB):
 1.    The WWIB organization has elected its new 2019 Executive Board:
Shu-Ling Hergenhahn-Zhao, Capital Campaign Chair at the Sylvia Center for the Arts, has been elected president. Emily O’Connor, Executive Director of Lydia Place will serve as past president. Jamie Smeall, HR/Administrator at Avenue Bread will chair the banquet committee, while Brenda Bringhurst, Real Estate Officer at Heritage Bank, has been elected as the organization’s treasurer. Renee Aase, Operations Manager & Retail Operations Lead has been elected secretary.
 In other appointments, Lisa Chovil, Senior Sales Director of Mary Kay/Fairhaven Beauty Bar <https://wwib.org/2015/06/05/mary-kay-fairhaven-beauty-bar/>  has will be the Membership Chair. Jamia Burns, Attorney at Law, will chair the Scholarship Committee. Natalie Ransom, owner of Pozie by Natalie has been elected Speaker Series Coordinator. Andi Dyer, Real Estate Agent with Sterling Real Estate Group has been elected as Publicity Chair. Carolyn Saletto, president of Gym Star Sports Center, will chair the Professional Woman of the Year program. Suzannah Gusukuma, Artist at Lightening Tree Designs will serve as Charity Committee Chair.
 
2.    The 2019 Charity of the Year Finalists include:
 *         Bellingham Giving Circle
 *         Lydia Place
 *         YWCA
 The Winner will be selected at our January meeting.
  
3.    WWIB is thrilled to award scholarships to women entering higher education. Applications for scholarships can be found online in February 2019.
