Local Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting to Focus on B2B Connections; Business Growth
January 18, 2018 – Sustainable Connections announces speakers for the upcoming NW Washington Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting on February 20th, 2018.
Patsy Martin from the Port of Skagit and Mauri Ingram from the Whatcom Community Foundation will be joining forces for the Trade Meeting’s Keynote Address. The address with focus on what’s happening with regional food and agriculture infrastructure and highlight local opportunities for economic development and growth in the value added agriculture sector.           
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn from the Hartman Group, one of the foremost authorities on consumers, culture, and trends in the food and beverage industry. Davey McHenry will share insights and learnings to help food businesses identify their target markets and best reach them in a shifting consumer landscape.
An entrepreneur hot seat in the afternoon will showcase five thriving businesses who have grown from farmers market stands to brick and mortar establishments, one location to many, ideas to inception, sharing the joys and lessons learned of growing a sustainable food business. 
The goal of the Farm-to-Table Trade Meeting is to increase the success of local food and farming businesses and help local growers and buyers build and strengthen relationships. It helps generate approximately $500,000 in new business-to-business sales each year, and brings together 175+ farmers, fishermen, food artisans, restaurants, grocers, and others interested in sourcing local ingredients or selling local food.
The Northwest Washington Chef’s Collective will also be partnering with the Bellingham Technical College Culinary Arts program to create a gourmet and seasonally inspired seven-course lunch for all attendees.
