Learn how high school students can earn tuition-free college credit from Whatcom Community College

Spring information sessions explain the benefits and guidelines of the Running Start program
High school students and their parents interested in Whatcom Community College’s Running Start program for this spring or fall are invited to attend an upcoming information session. Running Start is a statewide partnership with high schools that allows juniors and seniors to attend WCC tuition free and earn college credit.
College credits completed in Running Start will transfer to most universities, saving students time and money as they work toward their bachelor’s degrees. Students can build schedules that allow them to balance classes, work, family and other personal commitments.
The following information sessions will be held throughout the county or on WCC’s campus at 237 W. Kellogg Rd. No RSVP needed and parking on WCC’s campus is free. Visit whatcom.edu/runningstart for more information.
·         6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, WCC’s Heiner Theater
·         6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, Blaine Library
·         6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, WCC’s Heiner Theater

Running Start participants may enroll simultaneously in high school and college classes, or solely at the college. WCC offers day, evening and online courses. Running Start students can still participate in athletics, clubs and be involved in their high school as much as they choose. Students can also participate in clubs, events and activities at WCC. More than 1,000 students enroll in Whatcom’s Running Start program every year.
