Election season is in full swing, and with it are the efforts of the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Bellingham & Whatcom County to register voters through its Every Vote Counts Campaign.
According to Reddit.com, the percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 30 who voted in the 2014 mid-tem election was a dismal 30%. The LWVBWC is committed to expanding voter participation in the current mid-term election. Thanks to Aslan Brewing Company, Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen, Menace Brewing, Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, and others, the LWVBWC is targeting these voters for National Voter Registration Day on September 25th.
Visit these businesses and find out how to register to vote, update your address, and preview the voters pamphlet. The deadline to register to vote, or to change your address is Monday, October 8th, and ballots will be mailed on October 17th.
Remember: Your vote is your voice, and EVERY vote counts.
