Happy 90th birthday MBT

Welcome to this edition of "Inside MBT." As we celebrate ninety years of Mount Baker Theatre, we are really celebrating the people and partnerships that make all the magic possible. It began with an investment team that saw a vision of a movie palace that would grow to include "Talkies." Years later, a city, county, and community partnership turned a failing building into a thriving performing arts center. We gratefully acknowledge all who have worked to sustain this valued community treasure.

In this email, enjoy a short video where business leaders across the US talk about the benefits of their "pARTnerships." Check out a list of MBT's business and community partners (and be sure to tell them thanks at your next opportunity). Read about two chances to celebrate MBT's birthday in the next week, and visit a wonderful page of MBT memorabilia curated by the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society.

Since you are one of our valued patron partners, thank you for making a place in your life for the Mount Baker Theatre, and we hope to see you at the birthday open house.

—John Purdie, Development Director

ON MISSION

Business Leaders Discuss
Arts Partnerships

In this video, hear from business leaders on why the arts matter, how the arts have brought value to their communities, and why these businesses partner with the arts. This video supports the powerful message about how art changes lives, helps people go beyond work to leave a legacy, and helps create traditions and new ways of achieving purpose.

YOUR VOICE

Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society has complied photos, history, and information about Mount Baker Theatre's Wurlitzer organ. A particular treasure of the collection is a scan of the opening day program on April 29th, 1927 featuring the film Slide, Kelly, Slide.

HAPPENINGS IN THE HUB

Community Celebrates 90 Years of Bellingham’s Local Hub for Live Entertainment with Two Events

Mount Baker Theatre turns 90 years old on Saturday, April 29, 2017, and two events mark this historic milestone. The first occurs on the actual 90th anniversary of opening night, Saturday, April 29. Some of MBT’s most ardent supports will gather to say “Cheers to 90 Years” at a dinner on the Main Stage. The second event is a free community open house and birthday party on May 5 starting at 3pm.
