Bellingham Automotive, customers collaborate for 25 Acts of Kindness

Many community organizations benefited from the 25 Acts of Kindness campaign, a collaboration of Bellingham Automotive and its customers.

Bellingham Automotive, founded in 1991, celebrated its 25th anniversary last year with 25 Acts of Kindness. Owned by John and Carol Beebe, the repair and maintenance shop undertook 25 separate initiatives to support local nonprofit organizations, conduct community activities and make special offers to customers.

“Having just finished our thank-you campaign of 25 Acts of Kindness, I am more thankful than ever for the opportunity we had to touch base with our faithful customers who we now call friends,” John Beebe said. “Each thing we did to give back was simply a reflection of how much we appreciate their trust in us.”

A particularly noteworthy example of the campaign occurred when a customer donated a van to Rebound of Whatcom County and Bellingham Automotive contributed $1,500 in parts and labor to make the van safer and efficient. Other community recipients included Bellingham Food Bank, Blue Skies for Children, Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Skookum Kids and Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County.

Bellingham Automotive also had the pleasure of adopting a family during the holidays, providing them with household needs, gifts and a holiday meal. Bellingham Automotive donated over $5,500 during the campaign and its customers added contributions in many cases.

Bellingham Automotive provides diagnostic, repair and maintenance services. It’s earned the highest rating of five stars from EnviroStars, a nationally recognized program that certifies businesses for reducing, recycling and properly managing hazardous waste.
