SUMMARY:Industry Close-Up Tour of Itek Energy - presented by Banner Bank - AM Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the third industry tour in our Working Waterfront series as we learn more about Itek Energy.\n\n\n\nInspired by the challenges our world faces through a dependence on fossil fuels\, John Flanagan Founder and CEO of Itek Energy envisioned providing the world with a clean energy alternative by investing in a solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility. Since beginning production in 2012\, Itek has shipped enough clean\, renewable energy to power over 4\,000 homes.\n\n\n\nThey pride themselves on providing the world with high-quality\, assembled-in-America solar modules. Itek's experienced engineers\, operators\, and management team share John's passion for solar energy and are dedicated to making a positive impact at a local\, national\, and global level.\n\n\n\nIncluded is a tour of the Puget Sound Energy's Encogen Generating Station! Encogen has four generators: three gas turbines and one steam turbine. The plant employs modern\, "combinedcycle\, combustion-turbine" technology that allows it to generate electricity using both a natural gas cycle and\, from the exhaust heat of its power-generating turbines\, a steam cycle. The two-stage process boosts operating efficiency\, lowers fuel costs\, and cuts air emissions. \n\n\n\nThank you to sponsors:\n\nBanner Bank\n\nSalish Wealth Management\n\nPuget Sound Energy\n\nWoods Coffee

The plant employs modern\, &ldquo\;combinedcycle\, combustion-turbine&rdquo\; technology that allows it to generate electricity using both a natural gas cycle and\, from the exhaust heat of its power-generating turbines\, a steam cycle. The two-stage process boosts operating efficiency\, lowers fuel costs\, and cuts air emissions. \;
